MINISTRY OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND BRAVE1 LAUNCH DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY MARKETPLACE FOR THE MILITARY

During the Defense Tech Era event, marking the second anniversary of the Brave1 defense technology cluster, the Ministry of Digital Transformation introduced Brave1 Market – a marketplace designed to accelerate the delivery of innovations to the battlefield.

“Brave1 Market will become the Amazon for the military, enabling units to buy the needed technologies on the front lines right now. This will help solve the problem of spreading effective technologies, as the military often does not know about solutions already available on the market that could help them complete their tasks more efficiently,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology Development, and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov during the Brave1 Defense Tech Era 2025 event.

What is Brave1 Market?

Over 1,000 innovative solutions are currently listed on the marketplace, including UAVs, UGVs, EW and SIGINT systems, components, AI-based technologies, software, and ammunition. For manufacturers’ safety, authorization via the Diia platform is required to access the public catalog. Particularly sensitive information is stored in a closed catalog, accessible only to verified military personnel through the Delta system.

How military personnel can purchase items on the Brave1 Market

Brave1 Market can already significantly improve the efficiency of decentralized procurement using military unit funds, allowing the purchase of both codified and non-codified products.

To purchase the necessary item, military personnel must select it from the website’s open catalog or the Delta system’s closed catalog. After that, they can contact the manufacturer and arrange a direct agreement.

In the future, Brave1 Market will integrate with the ePoints system, which combat units receive for hitting enemy targets. With these points, units can buy any items from the marketplace for their needs and a centralized supply.

Additionally, military personnel will soon be able to leave reviews for specific products visible to other service members. This will ensure fair competition and contribute to the overall improvement of Ukrainian defense solutions.

Brave1’s outcomes over two years

“Brave1 has developed an entire ecosystem of Ukrainian defense tech, bringing together more than 1,500 innovative companies in just two years. The cluster has helped create entire markets for technologies such as UGVs, short-range electronic warfare systems, interceptor drones, AI-enabled drones, and fiber-optic drones. Brave1’s new priority is to accelerate the deployment of these innovations on the battlefield, and Brave1 Market will help us achieve that,” emphasized Brave1 Director Nataliia Kushnerska.

In its two years of operation, the cluster has awarded over 540 grants totaling 2.2 billion UAH. The national budget for 2025 allocates 2.9 billion UAH for grants supporting defense tech. Among the priority areas identified by Brave1 are rockets, lasers, drone swarms, CRPA antennas, naval drones, anti-Shahed and anti-PGM systems, “mother drones”, Ukrainian Mavics, and guided munitions.

The Brave1 Defense Tech Era event was held with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and gathered over 900 participants from the defense tech community, including government officials, top developers, investors, and representatives of the security and defense forces.

Brave1 was established on April 26, 2023, at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Strategic Industries, the Ministry of Economy, and the National Security and Defense Council.
